Lake Hodges Pedestrian and Bike Bridge Opens

In a victory for pedestrians and cyclists in Escondido a $10 million project connecting Escondido and Rancho Bernardo trails recently opened for use.

This ambitious project has taken more than 10 years of planning and fundraising, and is designed to make minimal imopact on area wildlife while withstanding the stress of constant use.

Politicans, engineers, and the general public turned out for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and they were all singing the same positive tune. The bridge affords pedestrians and cyclists alike a safe way to get from trail to trail, and the perfect place to watch the wildlife.
